Frequently asked questions
If you feel that your emotional problems are affecting your quality of life, your relationships, your work, or your physical health, it may be an indication that you need therapy. You may also consider seeking help if you have tried to deal with your problems on your own without success or if you experience a significant change in your emotional state. Furthermore, therapy is not only for times of crisis, it is also a space for personal growth and self-knowledge.
Psychotherapy improves emotional well-being and provides tools to manage stress and anxiety. It fosters self-knowledge and self-esteem, and helps resolve conflicts in relationships. In addition, it facilitates overcoming trauma, promotes a more positive mindset, and is key to managing mental health problems. It also strengthens resilience and helps set and achieve personal goals, contributing to greater satisfaction in life.
In my practice, I offer several therapeutic modalities, tailoring them to each patient’s individual needs. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is one of the most common and focuses on changing negative thought patterns. I also work with third-wave therapies such as acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), which helps people accept their thoughts and emotions and commit to actions aligned with their values, and EMDR, which helps unlock and reprocess traumatic or intensely painful memories in an adaptive way. Together, we will evaluate which approach is most suitable for you.
Each session lasts between 50 and 60 minutes. Initially, we will explore your personal history and the issues that have led you to seek help. As we progress, we will work on setting clear, achievable goals and applying specific techniques to help you cope with your challenges. My approach is collaborative, so your input and experience are critical to the process.
For the therapy to be effective and to be able to see progress, a weekly session is recommended at the beginning of the treatment. As we advance in the process, the sessions will be spaced out.
Yes, I offer online therapy sessions, which can be a convenient and accessible option for many people. Virtual sessions allow the flexibility to conduct therapy from your home, which can make the process easier, especially if you have busy schedules or difficulty getting around. I use secure and trusted platforms to ensure privacy and quality of care.
